Yarn Along :- )

Joining Ginny in her weekly Yarn Along

I've almost finished knitting the body of my Tea Leaves cardigan. It's a lot of stockinette--great for having in my hands while watching television. Last night we watched the pilot for Matthew Perry's new comedy show, "Go On", which I thought was hysterically funny and really well-done. I hope that the series lives up to the pilot.

I've got three books going:
  1.  Alexandra Stoddards, Gracious Living in a New World: Finding Joy in Changing Times, which I wrote about in my last post.
  2. The Last Days of Dogtown, by Anita Diamant  (author of The Red Tent and Good Harbor). This is a historical novel inspired by an abandoned settlement up on Cape Ann (Massachusetts). I love novels that are set in locations with which I am familiar. Dogtown is easy to find, and there are trails among the ruins.
  3. The Adventures of Miss Flitt, Volume 1, Chapter IV, by writer, artist, and knitwear design extraordinaire Beth Hahn. This little gem of a book just arrived in my mailbox yesterday. It includes a well-written and entertaining Victorian mystery, Beth's lovely watercolor illustrations, and complete patterns for five original knitwear designs (written instructions, color photos, and charts). I am eager to knit "Emma's City Beret" and the "Gretel" sweater. Beth's patterns can also be purchased on Ravelry.
I had to take the above photo outdoors, as it was too dim in the house this morning. At one point, my yarn ball rolled off the table and "Elvis" (my 5 month old puglet) got a hold of it and ran through the yard,as if the devil were on his heels, dragging my Tea Leaves cardigan behind! It was seven a.m. The devil, of course, was actually me, screaming, "Leave it! leave it!" (grand entertainment for the neighbors).  Quite a bit of yarn unraveled from the ball, but thankfully no real harm was done (either to the sweater or the pug). My Tea Leaves cardi miraculously didn't even lose a single stitch.  :- )
I hope everyone has a wonderful Wednesday!
